The vision of Agder Energi is to be one of the leading companies in the Norwegian renewable energy sector.
The group’s operations include the production, distribution and sale of energy and energy-related services.
A large and experienced producer
Agder Energi is Norway’s third largest energy group in terms of hydroelectric production. The group’s 47 wholly and partly-owned power stations produce around 7.9 TWh of renewable energy on an annual basis. The company has developed considerable wind power expertise and Statkraft Agder Energi Vind is planning to build wind parks in several places in Norway.
Agder Energi has district heating plants in Kristiansand and Arendal.
Agder Energi Nett owns and has operational responsibility for the regional and distribution grids in both Agder counties, i.e. a total of 20,600 kilometres of lines. The company has 188,000 grid customers in Agder.
Agder Energi’s end user company is LOS, which is Norway’s largest power supplier, supplying electricity to over 150,000 customers in the private market. In the corporate market LOS enjoys a strong position among Norway’s largest national power suppliers.
Otera is a recognised supplier of electricity contracting services throughout the country. Otera is also involved in international operations.
Agder Energi has around 1,200 employees and is one of the largest enterprises in Sørlandet (Southern Norway). Its activities have a significant beneficial impact on this part of the country. This is helped by the company’s substantial purchases of goods and services in the region, while the municipalities who partly own the company, benefit from annual profits, taxes and duties.
Agder Energi is owned by the 30 Agder municipalities (54.5%) and Statkraft Industrial Holding AS (45.5%). The company’s head office is based in Kristiansand.
