Iveland power station

Iveland power station lies on the River Otra, around 27 kilometres north of Kristiansand, between Lake Byglandsfjorden and the mouth of the river.

Iveland power station is situated in Iveland Municipality in Aust-Agder. The municipality has a population of 1,314, and covers an area of 261 km², approximately 5.5% of which is water. Iveland is one of several power stations in the municipality.


The power station is on the River Otra, and makes use of the drop between Lake Gåseflåfjorden and Skaiåevja.


The Otra, which is the biggest river in southern Norway, runs from the Setesdalsheiene mountains in Bykle Municipality in the north to Kristiansand in the south.
