Høgefoss power station

Høgefoss power station makes use of the total drop of 64 metres at the Høgefossane waterfalls on the River Nisserelva.

Høgefoss power station is situated in Nissedal Municipality in Telemark. The municipality has a population of 1 451, and covers an area of 905 km², approximately 13% of which is water. Høgefoss is one of five power stations in the municipality.

The Nisserelva is dammed at Svåfossen, and the power station uses the drop from the Kjørull reservoir at an elevation of between 222 and 220 m a.s.l.

The river is part of the Arendal river system.

This makes Høgefoss power station the 15th biggest power station in the Agder Energi group.
