Håverstad power station is dug approximately 300 metres into the mountains at Håverstad in Åseral Municipality.
Håverstad power station is situated in Åseral Municipality in Vest-Agder. The municipality has a population of 923, and covers an area of 887 km², approximately 10% of which is water. Håverstad is one of four power stations in the municipality.
The power station lies at the south end of Lake Øre, which has a surface area of 3.82 km² and an elevation of 260 m a.s.l.
Lake Øre lies within the Mandal drainage basin.
