The Dutch energy company Eneco has acquired the company Nordgröön from the Norwegian power utility Agder Energi, thus strengthening its energy management activities in Germany, together with its German subsidiary LichtBlick.
The shareholders of both Glitre Energi and Agder Energi have now given their approval to the letter of intent, which means the companies can continue with their negotiations on a potential merger.
Agder Energi had an underlying operating profit after tax of NOK 187 million in the second quarter of 2020. This is up from NOK 84 million compared with the same period last year.
In recent years, Glitre Energi and Agder Energi have developed a close, good partnership across a number of areas. The boards of the two groups have given their respective CEOs the authority to explore a possible merger.
In the quarter to the end of March, Agder Energi’s underlying net income was NOK 241 million. The equivalent figure for the same period last year was NOK 173 million.
In 2019, Agder Energi made an underlying profit of NOK 340 million, down from NOK 874 million in 2018.
In the first nine months of 2019, Agder Energi’s underlying net income was NOK 84 million. The equivalent figure for the same period of 2018 was NOK 612 million.
